Description

Surrounded by majestic mountain peaks, the listed Pfeishütte lies at the head of the Samertal valley in the southern Karwendel mountains at 1,922 metres above sea level. Three traditional Tyrolean dining rooms and a spacious sun terrace offer rest and relaxation to exhausted hikers and bikers during the summer months from June to October. The hut hosts not only serve delicious meals in a breathtaking mountain setting, but also offer overnight accommodation for a maximum of 75 people for multi-day Karwendel adventures (climbing, hiking, biking).

At the Alpine Club Hut, e-bikers will find storage, lock-up and repair facilities. Since 1999, the rustic refuge has been managed entirely sustainably under the strict environmental seal of the Alpine Club.

OVERNIGHT STAY
In summer, from June to October, you can also spend the night in comfort at the listed Alpine Club Hut. A total of 23 places in cosy multi-bed rooms and 37 traditional camp places are available. You can even take a hot shower in the washrooms for a small fee, and delicious half-board meals are also available at the refuge on request. We ask that you reserve your overnight places in good time.

STARTING POINT
The ascent to the Pfeishütte is on wide gravel and hiking trails directly from the paid car park at the Scharnitz Nature Park InformationCentre. You can save the parking fee by taking the bus or train to the nearby Scharnitz train station and walking a few hundred metres to the starting point.

SUMMER TOURS

  • To the Pfeishütte. From the Scharnitz Nature Park Information Centre, you can reach the Pfeishütte either on a long, medium-difficulty hike or on a sporty, challenging (e-)bike ride. On wide gravel roads you go from the starting point via the Gleirschtal to the Möslalm and further to the Pfeishütte. However, only the best bikers will be able to master the last biting ascent to the Pfeishütte.
    To the bike tour

  • Karwendel Höhenweg. The Pfeishütte is a convenient overnight stop on the famous and panoramic Karwendel Höhenweg. The multi-day Karwendel crossing requires a certain amount of stamina, but rewards you with unparalleled natural beauty and a special panoramic view.

    Section 4/ Pfeishütte-Bettelwurfhütte

  • Adlerweg. The popular Adlerweg trail provides a spectacular (and challenging) link between the Seefeld Region and the provincial capital of Innsbruck. From the Hallerangerhaus in Scharnitz, stage 12 takes you via the historic Pfeishütte to the Hafelekar, the highest peak above Innsbruck. From there, you can either glide down the valley on the Nordkettenbahn or jump down the Arzler Schotterreisn like an ibex (only recommended for experienced mountaineers with sturdy shoes).
