Climbing route Multi-pitch St. Jodok - Rope Bridge Sector

Schmirn /
Duration: 2:00 h

The sunny Stafflacher Wand in the mountaineering village of St. Jodok, where the Peter Kofler via ferrata is also located, is also very suitable for rock climbing. Here, in the "rope bridge" area, there are multi-pitches in five routes to choose from: Pfeilerweg (6 pitches, 3/6), Höhenfieber (11 pitches, 3/4-) and Im Reich der Sonne (9 pitches, 6+/7-), Frischluft (5/7+) and Fünferpfeiler (5/5+). At the top of the two longer routes there is even a small summit cross and a bench for resting.

    Description

These multi-pitch routes are ideal for beginners, as the requirements are easy to medium in terms of difficulty (see topo) - best done in the company of a mountain guide.

To get started, first follow the signs for the via ferrata coming from St. Jodok. After the last house above the railway line, hike up to the right to the Rumlich Chapel, then follow the path into the forest past the red bench on the left. A sign marks the beginning of the approach (marked red) to the rock face. For the descent, abseil down the abseil runway at Höhenfieber and Im Reich der Sonne. The pillar path can be left via the emergency exit at the via ferrata.
