Climbing route Obstanser Eisfall

A really lovely icefall with several options available at the head of the Winklertal valley. The icefall is divided into a 250 m high lower section and a 100 m high upper section.

Description

Arrival: From Lienz towards Sillian to Tassenbach. Turn left into Lesachtal to Kartitsch. In southern direction to the sports centre.
Access: From the sports centre along the path into Winklertal. At the end of the path to the end of the vally.
Descent by rappeling or via the bridge.
Characteristic: The icefall is divided in a 250 m high lower party and a 100 m high upper part.

Difficulty: WI 4-WI 5
Duration for ascent: 40 minutes
