Arrival by public transport
By bus: Bus connection from Ellmau / Kitzbühel / St. Johann i.T. / Lofer and within the PillerseeTal region. Bus stop Fieberbrunn centre. Bus free of charge with guest card.
On the sunny side of the valley through rural hamlets and meadows. Always in view, the striking mountains around Fieberbrunn: Spielberg, Wildseeloder, Wilder Kaiser.
We start at the tourist office, cross the bridge behind the municipal office and follow the Fieberbrunner Ache eastwards for the next 1.1 km, always upstream (direction Hochfilzen). The trail leads along the Achenpromenade to the hamlet of Walchau. There we cross under the main road (B 164). We leave the "Eiserne Hand Runde" for the time being and turn left in the direction of Gasthof Dandler. After the inn, we turn left into a steep passage (750 m/ 85 HM), cross under the main road high above us to return to the "Eiserne Hand Runde" in the hamlet of Buchau (2.2 km).
Keeping left and passing between 2 farms, we have gravel under our soles again. We say goodbye to the "Eiserne Hand Runde" for the next time in the hamlet of Schönau-Pertrach in a gentle uphill and downhill walk, always with the wonderful panorama of the Kitzbühel Alps and the majestic Kaiser Mountains in front of us. The trail leads straight ahead onto a short gravel road. After 5.3 km, we cross under the ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) tracks, then turn right and arrive in the hamlet of "Schloßberg". There we take the path to the left downhill, where we soon get a good perspective of the historic Rosenegg Castle Hotel. In Rosenegg we cross the roundabout (be careful!!) and the bridge over the Fieberbrunner Ache(6.4 km). After the bridge we follow the promenade path to the left along the Ache to the village centre of Fieberbrunn.
