Description

Dresdner Hütte - Sulzenau Hütte via Große Trögler

From the Stubai Glacier cable car Fernau middle station, the marked trail leads in the direction of the Sulzenau Hut over the Fernaubach stream, gently at first, then climbing more steeply over scree blocks to a fork in the trail. On the left, the trail serpentines through a steep scree flank to a ridge shoulder and up into the small cirque below the Peilspitze. To the right of this, on a well-laid slab path and rock steps over the steep slope to the ridge and left to the cross on the Großer Trögler. The descent is possible on the marked trail next to the NE ridge over the Kleiner Trögler to the Sulzenau Hut. The trail descends in switchbacks through the very steep scree and grassy slope to a flatter ridge, then on to the valley floor where the Alpenverein hut is already visible.
