From Schwendt in the direction of St. Johann in Tirol turn off to the left side about 200 m before Gasthaus Hohenkendl before a bridge left into the meadows. Here are some parking areas. You walk along the meadow path, first at the junction at Putzenhof left and walk along over the pastures of the Putzenalm via a forest path to the Stubenalm (small detour with refreshments available). Keeping left, you reach the lower Schnappenalm on the road. Continue in serpentines to the Upper Schnappenalm and to the cross of Schnappenstein at 1491 m (stamp "gold" in Kaiserwinkl hiking pass).
