Description:
We start at Vilsalpsee and reach the right side of the lake up to Vilsalpe, where we turn uphill behind the house towards Gaishorn/Rauhorn. We go up the newly restored Border Crosser emergency descent to below the Rauhorn, where we keep left at the fork and continue over the Hintere Schafwanne at 1995 m to the Schrecksee. It is worth a descent down to the picturesque mountain lake! Then we continue over the Kirchendachsattel and through some very easy climbing sections to Kastenjoch and above the Kasten-Alpe up to the Westliches Lachenjoch. From now on, we only walk downhill and first reach the Landsberger Hut and then return on the normal path down to Vilsalpsee, passing the Traualpsee, the third lake of the route.Directions:
