The Vorderkaiserfeldenhütte (1,384 meters above sea level) is an ideal starting point for tours into the Kaiser Mountains and is known for its fabulous panoramic views.
Popular family-friendly base on the Zahmer Kaiser
DAV hut, Oberland section
It may be called the Zahmer Kaiser, but it's not quite so well-behaved. The mountain range where the Vorderkaiserfeldenhütte is located is as beautiful and charming as its famous brother, the Wilder Kaiser. From the hut above the picturesque Kaisertal valley, there are unique panoramic views of the Inntal valley, the Wilder Kaiser, the Zillertal Alps and the Wendelstein mountains. The rustic dining room or terrace invite you to indulge, and as a family-friendly hut, the accommodation scores points with easy hiking destinations in the surrounding area. Climbers also get their money's worth on various climbing routes, some of which are very difficult. Many mountain hikes are possible at any time of year, and in winter snowshoe hikers and tobogganers are also drawn to the Zahmer Kaiser.
