Ski tour Breiteggspitze

Wildschönau - Oberau /
Difficulty ratings: easy
Route length: 3.4 km
Duration: 2:00 h

The ski tour to the Breiteggspitze leads across open alpine meadows and through snow-covered forests. During the ascent, the view opens up to the surrounding peaks of the Kitzbühel Alps and the head of the Wildschönau valley.

Tour character

The tour to the Breiteggspitze is not technically demanding and is therefore particularly suitable for beginners or connoisseurs. Most of the ascent is on the easily recognizable summer trail and is easy to walk throughout if the snow conditions are right; alternatively, you can take the forest road. At around 800 meters in altitude, the route is moderate and requires a solid level of fitness. The route alternates between quiet forest passages and open alpine meadows, whereby the orientation remains simple. Only the last ascent to the summit is a little steeper, but still manageable. The descent follows the ascent route - alternatively, you can descend from the Breitegg-Hochleger via the meadow slopes directly to the forest road and follow it to Gasthaus Schönanger, which invites you to take a leisurely break. If the route is followed as described, it is hardly at risk of avalanches and is frequently used. West exposure.
