Experience a winter hike full of wide open spaces, tranquillity and breathtaking panoramas: from Bergkastel past the Stieralm via the Plamort plateau to the cosy Lärchenalm, sparkling snowy landscapes, spectacular viewpoints and delightful places to stop for refreshments await you.
The scenic winter hiking trail starts at the Bergkastel mountain station and leads past the Stieralm via the extensive, high alpine plain of Plamort to the idyllically situated Lärchenalm – a peaceful nature experience away from the hustle and bustle of Nauders. Shortly after the start, an impressive panorama of the surrounding three-country mountain world opens up, stretching as far as the peaks of South Tyrol and the Ortler.
The gently ascending trail, numbered 31, initially runs across the open snowy landscape of Plamort, past the Plamort viewing rock, a perfect spot to pause and enjoy the clear winter air and snow-covered mountains. Along the route, you will be accompanied by sparse larch slopes, wide snowfields and numerous small vantage points that invite you to linger.
From Plamort, the route leads via trail number 31 to Kompatsch and from there via number 32 to the Lärchenalm. Here you will find a rustic atmosphere, a sunny terrace and the opportunity to recharge your batteries after your winter tour.
The combination of panoramic views, untouched nature and a well-groomed trail makes this winter hike an ideal experience for leisure hikers and nature lovers. If you wish, you can either take the same route back or take the chairlift back to the mountain station or valley station.
