The most beautiful photo spots in Tyrol

Well, we'll reveal a few of our favourite photo locations in Tyrol. But not our very secret ones - you'll have to find them yourself. We love it when beautiful pictures from Tirol do the rounds on social media. But we also love our nature and ask you to show consideration for nature, especially in these sometimes crowded places. So these are our "most instagrammable places" of the Tyrolean picture book landscape.

The highline is great for showing off. Here you can show how brave you are. After all, not everyone dares to cross the 400 metre long and 114 metre high suspension bridge near Reutte. Whether with dramatic clouds, as a selfie or even photographed from below - the Highline179 suspension bridge near Reutte raises your feed to a dizzying level.

Norway vibes come to life here. And as you can see from all the visual channels, Norway is not the worst place to take impressive nature photos. Lake Plansee is our fjord, and the combination of a large blue-green lake framed by high mountains guarantees atmospheric photo motifs. And rumour has it that there are particularly beautiful spots for hammocks here.

The Ice Q mountain restaurant is located at over 3,000 metres and is an architectural eye-catcher offering very special views of and with the surrounding mountains. It was also the backdrop for the James Bond film "Spectre". Right next door at 007 Elements, you can show off your coolest side and have your photo taken surrounded by props from the spy thriller.

The sky has slowly lost its bright blue, a few clouds are turning highlighter colours, mainly pink and orange. Below them is the jagged skyline of the rocky Kalkkögel. And twice over, because the small, shallow Salfainssee is the ideal mirror surface. Picture perfect! The ideal calendar picture for your Insta feed is ready.

The Nockspitze, or Saile, is a popular panoramic mountain near Innsbruck - especially for sunrise hikes. While you and the summit are kissed awake by the first rays of sunshine, Innsbruck still lies in the shade deep below - a fantastic picture. The panoramic view of the Stubai and Tux Alps and the Karwendel is also impressive. From the Axamer Lizum, the Nockspitze can be reached easily in around 2.5 hours.

Where urban architecture meets alpine mountain scenery, exciting motifs are automatically created. For example, at the mountain station of the Hungerburg cable car, which has a futuristic look. Or the view from the Seegrube of the whole of Innsbruck below and a large part of the Tyrolean Alps above. The highlight of the contrasts is at the Hafelekar, the apex of the Nordkette. Innsbruck to the south, now resembling a miniature world, and the rugged Karwendel wilderness to the north.

A parade picture from Innsbruck: the colourful house facades along the banks of the Inn, the turquoise Inn in the foreground and the (snow-covered) Nordkette in the background. Especially beautiful in the morning or evening light. And which is the more beautiful chain? In any case, both look good in the photo: the chain of houses in Mariahilf and the summit skyline of the Karwendel-Nordkette.

Everything glitters and sparkles: In the Chambers of Wonder of the Crystal Worlds, one visual highlight follows the next. Whether it's the crystal cloud in the garden, the staircase of love messages, the crystal dome or the infinite hall of mirrors - here you can shine with your surroundings.

The Großer Ahornboden is one of our greatest and most fascinating natural treasures. Over 2,000 old and gnarled sycamores are spread across a grassy plain, flanked by the rocky giants of the Karwendel mountains. We still sometimes wonder why "The Lord of the Rings" wasn't filmed here. Especially in autumn, when the maples turn golden-orange, you can take wonderful photos here.

It's probably the photo motif from Tyrol that adorns most Instagram feeds: Standing on the suspension bridge not far from the Olpererhütte, you seem to be - well - hanging directly above the Schlegeis reservoir. The architecturally appealing hut cuts a fine figure in any photo, as does the heart placed above it as a symbol of solidarity and love for the mountains. Either way, a visit to the Olpererhütte will do your feed good.

One of the most popular photo motifs in Tyrol has to be worked for. The ascent to the Bärenkopf via the Bärenbadalm takes around 3 hours. The Bärenkopf is one of the few places from which you can see the entire Achensee. The lake, which is deeply embedded in the mountains, otherwise likes to hide one or two corners. At Bärenkopf, the entire Achensee lies at your feet - and then your followers.

The panorama rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and the best views of the Lienz Dolomites are the insta-highlight of the Dolomitenhütte. The waiting lists for the Adlernest and Adlerhorst rooms can understandably be long. But it's worth the wait - there aren't many places where you can wake up to a view like this! The Karlsbaderhütte is located on the turquoise-blue Laserzsee lake, amidst the rocky peaks of the Lienz Dolomites - a wonderful place to take photos.

"Did you photoshop yourself in there?" - you have to be prepared for this question in the comments if you have your photo taken on one of our viewing platforms in front of endless mountain panoramas. The views can sometimes seem unrealistic to one or two followers. These are the places where display backgrounds, screensavers and open-mouthed smileys are created.

We know from our own experience: Photos of Alpine pastures are particularly good for awakening longing and earning smiley faces with heart eyes: "I'd love to be there now!". In East Tyrol - an unrivalled place of longing anyway - there are two wonderfully picturesque Alpine villages. A white chapel, surrounded by 18 listed, sunburnt wooden huts, or the "Tibet of the Alps", consisting of 15 stone houses, which are among the oldest alpine huts in Austria. We can't wait to see which mountain pasture gets more heartmileys.

The Wildseeloder is a popular excursion mountain near Fieberbrunn. But it doesn't have to be the summit for the most beautiful photo motif all around. The ascent to the photogenic Wildsee lake is shortened to 1.5 hours with the help of the Lärchfilzkogel cable car. The Wildseeloderhaus is located right by the lake. If you stay overnight at the Wildseeloderhaus, it's worth getting up early for some particularly atmospheric pictures.
