Zoos & animal parks

No kangaroos in Austria?!? Anyone who has this slogan printed on their shirt is not quite right, as some of the marsupials also live in Tyrol - in a flat-sharing community with animals that you would expect to find in the Alps: deer, stags, ibexes and stray domestic and farm animal breeds. And because it works so well, they are also joined by llamas, alpacas, yaks and even some monkeys. Of course, you can also visit the Big5 of the Alps in zoos in this country: ibexes, chamois, marmots, golden eagles and bearded vultures are at home in Innsbruck's Alpine Zoo, for example.
