3…2…1 – “Happy New Year!” Ring in the New Year in style at the annual Innsbruck Mountain New Year’s Eve Celebrations. At midnight on New Year’s Eve, Innsbruck’s night skies will be a blaze of light and colour with a display of stunning pyrotechnics from Nordkette Mountain Range high above town, accompanied by the Danube Waltz. This amazing spectacle is a truly breathtaking sight set against the capital’s unique mountainscape.
New Year’s Eve celebration begins at 5:00pm with building projection mapping, giving a walk of town a monumental and grandiose feature: Imperial Palace and Court Church, St. James’ Cathedral, Town Hall and the famous Mariahilf Housefront at the heart of the old town district will be transformed with awesome 3D projections. The visual wonder that mapping provides, will be accompanied by music which adds to the experience. As of 9:00pm, Innsbruck’s historic center is transformed into a pulsating festivity area as the now traditional New Year’s Eve event is celebrated in front of the historic Imperial Palace. The festive entertainment sets the scene and mood, with people dancing on the street to music by a Queen-Tribute-Show and live DJs. After midnight, the party continues with “New Year’s Eve Beats” at Congress Innsbruck.
Little ones can join the Eve of the Eve Party at Innsbruck’s lovely downtown for the ultimate children’s New Year fun: The popular Children’s New Year’s Eve Festival will be returning to the heart of Innsbruck on December 30, 2022. Special activities, games and play will keep children entertained from 2:00pm onwards. The final show at 6:00pm draws the event to a close.
