The New Year’s Eve celebrations are officially kicked-off December 29 in Jerzens, Pitztal Valley, with an Eve of the Eve Party at an elevation of 2,000 meters, including a torchlight parade and memorable fireworks of sound. Children can join the Littlies New Year’s Party at Innsbruck’s lovely downtown for the ultimate children’s New Year fun on December 30. A deeply refreshing event is the New Year’s Eve Swimming Tradition in Lake Achensee, where hardy swimmers brave the 4 degree Celsius lake to prepare for actual New Year’s Eve: There’s a New Year’s Eve Concert in Erl, the annual Innsbruck Mountain New Year’s Eve Celebrations to name but a few. The New Year’s Day Concert in Innsbruck revolves around the theme of “Masquerade” and is sure to get the New Year off to a good start.
