New Year's Eve Events

Every year, Tirol hosts a wide range of New Year’s Eve events – from mountain New Year’s Eve parties in snow-covered Alpine regions to concerts, light shows in the old town, pre-New Year’s Eve events in Ski Resorts, right through to special activities such as the ‘New Year’s Eve swim at Lake Achensee’.

The Bergsilvester Innsbruck takes place from 29 December to 6 January.On 31 December, a party zone in front of the Hofburg awaits you, featuring live music and DJs. There will also be artistic 3D light projections on historic façades. And as the highlight: a Mountain New Year’s Eve celebration on the Nordkette with spectacular fireworks over Innsbruck.

The New Year’s Eve swim at Lake Achensee is a daring winter event: on 31 December, participants jump into the freezing water, swim 50 metres and, if necessary, climb an artificial iceberg. There is also a fun competition in which creative costumes play a part.

If you want to experience the event at the Seegrube, you’ll need a ticket to take the Cable Car up. However, the fireworks are particularly beautiful to watch from the city, and the New Year’s Eve party takes place at the Hofburg anyway. Admission here is free. 

Yes, there are also events taking place before 31 December. Warm-up parties, a pre-New Year’s Eve cross-country ski race in Kössen and a children’s New Year’s Eve party in Innsbruck on 30 December.
