Kieler Wetterhütte

The Kieler Wetterhütte (2,809 metres) is an emergency shelter in an exposed location below the peak of the Fatlarspitze in the Verwall Mountains, Tirol.

The stone facade of this hut means it blends in perfectly with its rocky surroundings high above Ischgl. It is an emergency shelter on the challenging "Hoppe-Seyler-Weg" trail in the Verwall Mountains. Things are pretty basic: a bunkbed with three sleeping spaces, plus two more folding beds if needed. There is a stove, but wood and food must be brought by visitors themselves. The landscape, however, more than makes up for the limited amenities. The "Hoppe-Seyler-Weg" is part of the Paznaun High Trail. Experienced climbers can take on the nearby Fatlarspitze and Saumspitze mountains.
