Leaving from the pretty alpine village of Gerlos, the Isskogel cable car transports passengers to 1,900 metres above sea level. The journey is an experience in itself thanks to the magnificent views of the Zillertal Valley. The top station of the cable car is also the starting point for the relatively easy hike to the top of the Isskogel mountain. This is just one of many walks and hikes starting at the top of the cable car. Most of them lead to either a summit or a mountain hut such as the Latschenalm, which serves traditional food. This area is particularly popular with hikers and mountainbikers.
