Beschreibung

Winter sports 365 days a year - only on the Hintertux Glacier. There, at the upper end of the Zillertal, is Austria's only year-round ski area. The finest natural powder snow can be expected around the 3,476-metre-high Olperer well into spring. Even in midsummer, when the heat down in the valley makes the air shimmer, ski and snowboard enthusiasts can make their turns and practice their jumps at an altitude of up to 3,250 meters above sea level.

In winter in particular, guests have a good number of slopes of all difficulty levels at their disposal. One attraction is the descent from the "Gefrorene Wand" down to Hintertux, the longest piste in the Zillertal at 12 kilometers. There are wonderful freeride runs for deep-snow adventurers. Snowboarders, skiers and freestylers can meet up in the Betterpark or in the new Funslope at the Sommerbergalm.

In winter, the ski area is part of the Ski and Glacier World Zillertal 3000, which also includes the slopes around Finkenberg and Mayrhofen. The choice of downhill runs increases many times over and a single lift pass applies everywhere. Those with plenty of stamina can then try out the glacier circuit and cover 15,000 vertical meters and 60 downhill kilometers in just one day.
