Description

The development from egg to bee
Bees (queen, worker bees, drones) all come from a tiny egg laid by the queen into a wax cell. A fertilized egg (female), placed in a normal wax cell and fed with a mixture of pollen and honey, turns into a worker bee. The egg transforms into a larva on the 4th day, on the 8th day the bees seal the cell, and metamorphosis continues in secret: the larva first forms a cocoon, then a pupa, which hatches on the 21st day. The winged, fully-formed insect tears open the lid of its cell and is immediately able to fulfill its first tasks...
