Attraction Church of St. Jakobus

Strass im Zillertal

Church of St. Jakobus

Information

Source: Ferienregion Fügen-Kaltenbach im Zillertal

Description

The place of worship is dedicated to St. James the Greater due to its location on the Inn Valley road. The first written records about the church date back to 1337 in the will of Heinrich IV of Rottenburg. At that time, only the current, original purely Gothic choir certainly existed.

The Baroque design and furnishings give the place of worship beauty and create a friendly welcome for visitors. The parish church of Strass is also a pilgrimage church on the grand pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. A detailed guide is available in the parish church.
