Chapel-John the Baptist
On 11 September 2010 the newly built chapel was inaugurated on the Gschirraste. Michael Schöser donated the church in memory of Prince Archbishop Johannes Geisler, who had grown up in Gschirr and as a thank you for recovering from a serious illness.
The chapel is placed under the protection of John the Baptist, the altar room is adorned by the monstrance found during renovation works in the attic. The consecration service was celebrated by guest pastor Rolf Merkle, who often spends his free time on the Schwendberg as a hut tenant. The wind duo Walter Sauerwein-Adi Rinner and the church choir Hippach framed the atmospheric celebration.
Afterwards, the numerous guests were spoiled culinary and could spend pleasant hours with "Schneidig und Krump" in Bilderbuch-Autumn weather.
A heartfelt " Vergelt`s Gott" to all helpers and donors for the active support in the construction of the chapel!
