Kapelle Laimach

Description

The chapel of Laimach
is consecrated to St. Trinity and was built in 1741. It has a high altar with the image of the Madonna of the Trinity (about 1750) and a side altar with the statues of St. Mary. Joseph and Isidor and two late Gothic bishop figures (around 1500).

In Laimach, the "Strasserhäusl", the old home of the Strasser family of national singers, is a well-preserved 18th century Zillertal farmhouse built entirely of wood. This family of singers took care of the spread of the song " Silent Night, Holy Night " (see below excerpt from a brochure by Emil Koschak).
