The Kitzbühel fountain was built in 1971 by local sculptor Sepp Dangl for the 700th anniversary of the town.
The figures are Ludwig "der Strenge" (the Severe) of Bavaria, founder of the town, the Tyrolean Margarethe Maultasch and Emperor Maximilian I.
