Attraction Maria-Hilf Chapel in Vorderlanersbach

In the centre of Vorderlanersbach, directly on the main road, next to the historic Testerhof, stands the Maria-Hilf-Kapelle or Tester-Kapelle, built in its present form only in the early 19th century in post-Baroque style.

Description

At the same place stood a wayside shrine in the 16th century, which was later fitted with a shingle roof. A chapel was first mentioned in 1720, which was embellished around 1805 and its exterior was given a gabled façade.

In 1988, the chapel underwent its latest renovation and a new organ was installed.

The renovation work carried out in 2008 - 2009, which now gives the chapel a new splendour, is a beautiful sign of the importance of sacred places with a lively village community like in Vorderlanersbach.
