Description

The Leutascher Katzenkopf is located not far from the centre of Leutasch and just south of the small hamlet of Seewald. This popular year-round destination is easily reached by regional public transport (Weidach Kreithkapelle stop) - those who prefer to come by car will find plenty of parking spaces at the lift station.

There are many ways to climb to the sun terrace of the Katzenkopfhütte (1,360m): for example, easily via the cable car. Information on the guest card discount can be found here. In winter, cross-country skiers with their own equipment and a valid cross-country ski pass can travel free of charge to the start of the B15 Leutasch Wildmoos high-altitude cross-country trail. Cross-country skiing tip: The spectacular Katzenkopf circuit links the picturesque Leutasch Valley, the Wildmoos Plateau and the Katzenkopf to form a particularly spectacular cross-country skiing circuit over 22 kilometres of classic and skating.

During the winter months, the Katzenkopf also offers a varied family skiing area on almost ten kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes for all levels of ability. On selected days, the ski run is also illuminated for sparkling night runs.

Away from the cross-country ski runs and pistes, the wintry Katzenkopf also offers a spectacular natural toboggan run, the right toboggan can be hired at the valley station if required. Alternatively, beautiful winter hiking trails start at the cosy Katzenkopf Hut at the summit, which lead over snow-covered woodland to Wildmoos, Seefeld and Mösern.

The versatile Katzenkopf Bikeparkalso promises a very special thrill in summer - with various flow and single trails as well as its own uphill trail. Suitable high-tech equipment can be hired at the valley station, and introductory and riding technique courses with real trail professionals are also available there of course.

Fancy some speed, bends and loads of fun? The “Wildcat” summer toboggan run is a real highlight at the Katzenkopf Leutasch summer paradise. Over 1,200 metres, you’ll race through undulations, hairpin bends and steep sections – all whilst taking in the impressive panoramic views of the Tyrolean mountains. The “Wildcat” offers adrenaline, action and a great time for the whole family.

Accurate visitors can also try their hand at the DiscGolfPark around the Katzenkopfhütte. Use is free of charge, Frisbee discs can be rented in advance at the valley station.

The cosy Katzenkopfhütte at the top of the idyllic Leutasch family mountain offers a spectacular view over the Leutasch valley and the surrounding mountain peaks. Outside there is a small mountain playground with a climbing tower, swings and rainbow slides, inside a cosy parlour with a tiled stove for those cold days.
