Description
This significant prehistoric site can be reached through the Kaisertal. In front of the cave, a carefree atmosphere prevails. The colorful forests shine in the sun, birds are chirping, and the babbling of the river creates a calming sensation. The peaceful ambiance changes abruptly as you peer through the eight-meter-long entrance into the dark cave, where a 40-meter-deep chasm plunges into the earth.
The cave has yielded the bones of 380 cave bears. Additionally, humans left behind 37,000-year-old bone points, Bronze Age graves, fire pits, and tools. Nowadays, no artifacts remain in the cave itself, but some of the discoveries are on display in the local museum at Kufstein Fortress.
The cave is accessible at all times.
