Event Almabtrieb & Kirchtag in Jerzens

On September 11, 2026 the traditional cattle drive takes place in Jerzens, marking the transition of livestock from the mountain pastures to the winter stalls. This custom has a long history and is celebrated every year in the fall.
Starting at 2:00 p.m. the cows, goats, and sheep make their way home through the village after having grazed in the high mountain pastures during the summer. The cattle drive is a highlight of the year for the local community and is joyfully celebrated by residents and visitors alike.

On September 10, 2026 , a cheerful warm-up party with DJ starts in the center of Jerzens to kick off the traditional Almabtrieb celebration.

The festival is not only an opportunity to admire the animals but also a cultural event accompanied by festive activities.
