Cyclists from 30 nations ride through Austria, Italy and Switzerland at the Dreiländergiro.
The Dreiländergiro is one of the biggest cycling events in Europe, with 3,000 participants from 30 nations competing for the best places every year. Riders have the choice between two routes: Route A (Stelvio Engadin)- the familiar and more challenging route - covers 168 kilometers over 3,300 vertical meters with gradients of up to 15 percent from Nauders to Prad, over the Stelvio Pass and the Umbrail Pass through the Engadin back to Nauders. Route B (Stelvio Vinschgau) leads over the Stilfserjoch, the Umbrail Pass to St. Maria and through the upper Vinschgau back to Nauders. A total of 120 kilometers and 3,000 meters of altitude difference have to be mastered on this route.
The Dreiländergiro is part of the Girodays, which start a few days earlier.
