Event Großglockner Ultra Trail

The Ultra Trail around the Grossglockner is one of the toughest races on the mountain. The alpine backdrop also makes it one of the most beautiful trail running experiences.

Description

Every year, top international runners test their strength on the Grossglockner Ultra Trail. Predominantly single trails with Alpine crossings through three federal states, seven valleys and six towns await. 14 glaciers and 300 peaks are part of the mountain panorama at over 3,000 meters above sea level.

There are four routes to choose from. The most difficult, the Grossglockner Ultra-Trail, which can be completed in 30 hours, leads around the Grossglockner. The start and finish is in Kaprun. With its 110 kilometers and 6,500 meters of altitude, it demands maximum physical and mental endurance as well as a lot of alpine experience. The Osttirol Trail is 84 kilometers long and leads over 5,000 vertical meters from Enzinger Boden to Kaprun.

On the Großglockner Trail, participants run 57 kilometers and 3,500 vertical meters from Kals am Großglockner to Kaprun in a maximum of 16 hours. The Weissee Glacier World Trail must be completed within 12 hours. It leads over 37 kilometers and 1,500 vertical meters from Enzinger Boden to Kaprun.

Children can take part in the Mini GGUT, which is divided into two races (1 kilometer and 3.1 kilometers) for two different age groups.
