The medieval squares and alleys of the city of Hall seem tailor-made for the pre-Christmas season. While a giant Advent calendar is projected onto the facades of the buildings, brass bands, storytellers, and vendors selling arts and crafts and culinary delicacies create a festive atmosphere.

Description

The closer Christmas gets, the brighter the Upper Town Square in Hall in Tirol shines. During the pre-Christmas season, the facades of the buildings in the medieval center of the former salt-mining town are transformed into an Advent calendar. The respective dates are projected onto the walls, enveloping the Hall Advent Market in a unique atmosphere of light.

In the medieval alleys, stars made of broken mirrors sparkle in the sunlight even during the day, before being illuminated in color in the evening to create a unique light show. In keeping with the town’s medieval backdrop, the Advent market has a very traditional feel: Every day starting at 18 p.m., brass bands and choirs enchant visitors with Christmas music; children can visit the animals at the petting zoo, go ice skating, or let storytellers whisk them away to worlds of fantasy.
