Calves on fire, fans cheering: The International Hahnenkamm MTB Race in Kitzbühel is a steep climb for real bike heroes. They are celebrated accordingly at the end.

Description

Every year, hundreds of professional and amateur bikers gather at the foot of the Hahnenkamm for the International Hahnenkamm MTB Race in Kitzbühel. The aim of the traditional race is to conquer the legendary ski mountain by mountain bike. 9.2 kilometers separate the athletes from the finish line. In between, there is a mass start in the town center, 940 meters of altitude and gravel roads with gradients of up to 16 percent.

The route runs from Schattberg via the Einsiedelei goods road, to the Astenalm, Melkalm and via the Walde crossing on the Hahnenkamm to the Walde mountain station. The award ceremony takes place there from 2 pm.

Licensed classes, sports classes for U15 and U17 bikers and gravel bike classes for all age groups will be judged. There is prize money and trophies to be won in each class.
