The Journalism Festival is the right place for anyone who wants to gain an insight into the work of journalists and media, cultural exchange and debates. It creates numerous meeting places in the center of Innsbruck and is open to everyone.

Celebrating media freedom, diversity of opinion and democracy - that is ultimately what the Journalism Festival in Innsbruck is all about. Last year's event attracted more than 7,300 visitors, 170 participants from 20 countries and 70 program items. In 2026, media professionals, academics and NGO representatives will once again engage in discussions with each other and the public. The program recently included topics such as the threat to independent journalism, AI, the climate crisis, the shift to the right in Europe, the work of investigative teams, as well as a reporter slam, films and concerts. The Journalism Festival is organized in cooperation with quality media from Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy as well as partner organizations such as the University of Innsbruck.
