Description

The jagged peaks of the Wilder Kaiser serve not only as a backdrop but also as the terrain for an imperial trail running event. Six routes are offered, starting from Scheffau. Newcomers and children are just as welcome to participate as professional skyrunners.

The most exciting and technically challenging is the Kaiserkrone Skyrace Trail: Here, participants must conquer via ferratas and summits. The race route covers 24.7 kilometers and 2,690 meters of elevation gain to the Kaiser-Hochalm, the Sonneck, and the Scheffauer. The Ultra Trail offers just a touch less adrenaline. In return, hard-core trail runners tackle a full 56 kilometers and 3,640 meters of elevation gain here. The slightly shorter Medium Trail is 20.7 kilometers long and leads to the Kaiser-Hochalm at 1,608 meters above sea level. Runners cover 1,290 meters of elevation gain here, while the short Short Trail involves just 490 meters of elevation gain over a distance of 8.3 kilometers. The 30-kilometer Panorama Trail covers 1,500 meters of elevation gain.

Kids can also burn off some energy: The Kaiserkrone Kids Trail is a running route ranging from 500 to 1,500 meters in the valley, depending on age group.
