Description

The jagged peaks of the Wilder Kaiser are not only the backdrop, but also the terrain for an imperial trail running event. Six routes are offered starting from Scheffau. Newcomers and children are just as welcome as professional skyrunners.

The most exciting and technically demanding is the Kaiserkrone Skyrace Trail: here you have to conquer via ferratas and summits. The competition route leads over 24.7 kilometers and 2,690 vertical meters to the Kaiser-Hochalm, Sonneck and Scheffauer. The Ultra Trail produces slightly less adrenaline. Hard-core trail runners can tackle a whole 56 kilometers and 3,640 vertical meters here. The somewhat slimmer Medium Trail is 20.7 kilometers long and leads to the Kaiser-Hochalm at 1,608 meters above sea level. Runners cover an altitude difference of 1,290 meters here, while the short Short Trail only has an altitude difference of 490 meters over a distance of 8.3 kilometers. The 30-kilometre Panorama Trail covers 1,500 meters in altitude.

Children can also work off their energy: the Kaiserkrone Kids Trail is a running route between 500 and 1,500 meters in the valley, depending on the age group.
