Not for the faint-hearted: 4,600 meters in altitude have to be overcome to reach the finish, the Kitzbüheler Horn.
The Kitzbüheler Radmarathon takes over the showdown on the Kitzbüheler Horn from the Tour of Austria. Here too, the classic version ends on the mountain, which is considered the steepest cycling mountain in Austria with a maximum gradient of 23 percent. If you make it there on your racing bike, you will have already passed the Pass Thurn, the Gerlos Pass, the Kerschbaumer Sattel, the Alpbachtal and Brandenberg. All in all, 216 kilometers and 4,600 vertical meters - a route that can definitely be called an extreme marathon.
To save yourself the last 800 meters in altitude, there is a slower version - the KRM Kitz, this race ends in the Kitzbühel Vorderstadt. Since 2025, participants have been able to decide which destination they want to head for on the way, the classic Horn route or the shorter KRM Kitz.
