Event Kunstfestival Medienfrische

Boden/Bschlabs, from 01. Jun 2025 until 22. Jun 2025
leider verpasst

What happens when artists and media professionals give free rein to their creativity in a village of 30 people? Traditions are turned upside down and new impulses emerge - for art, community and the future.

We recommend because:

  • the festival's venues in the remote mountain village are unusual
  • it is not just about performances, but real encounters
  • because the arts festival is interdisciplinary and enormously diverse

Description

The interdisciplinary, multi-day art festival medienfrische provides impetus for new future perspectives in the remote Bschlabertal valley in the Außerfern region. It not only serves as a field of experimentation for artists from all over the world, but also gives the people who live in the valley new ideas. Carving art and digital art come together. It is also about questioning ways of working and breaking up encrusted traditions. People from seemingly opposing worlds come into contact with each other and develop new ideas together.

Their own artistic work is questioned and reconsidered in such a remote location. At an altitude of 1,400 meters, where there is neither a supermarket nor can the usual urban needs be satisfied, an existential approach to oneself and one's own understanding of art can have a fruitful effect.

In addition to interactive performances on the streets, in churches or in nature, as well as concerts, readings and lectures, visitors can also experience exhibitions and cinema screenings. Hardly any other art festival is so diverse. Dadaism plays an important role every year. As a spiritual leitmotif, it stands for breaking with conventions. 100 years later, the Media Fresh Festival invites you to reflect on DADA and follow in the footsteps of Dadaists such as Max Ernst and Tristan Tzara.

Most events are free of charge, voluntary donations are welcome.
