Neujahrskonzert 2027 "Tänze und Träume"
Welcome the new year together with TLT chief conductor Gerrit Prießnitz, soprano Julia Grüter, and the TSOI. Look forward to a program featuring melodies from Viennese Classicism, Romanticism, and operetta, which invites both dreaming and a festive mood.
Ludwig van Beethoven's Egmont overture spreads a festive atmosphere and a hint of drama at the beginning of the concert. In 2027, the music world will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of this great composer.
Julia Grüter will then dive into the world of various arias by Beethoven, Dvořák, Strauss, and Lehár, revolving around the dream of romantic happiness. The famous Lied an den Mond from Antonín Dvořák's opera Rusalka is considered one of the most atmospheric arias of the Romantic era. Musically enchanting, it transports the listener to a magical, dream-lost sound world full of yearning for love and fulfillment. Dvořák's Slawische Tänze, on the other hand, exude a joyful zest for life. In the second part of the concert, the unmistakable charm of Viennese operetta unfolds with works by Johann Strauss and Franz Lehár: Among them, alongside a true New Year's classic – the lively Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka – is the Csárdás from Johann Strauss' operetta Die Fledermaus, where yearning dreams and dance rhythms unite.
