Event Rattenberger Advent

Austria's smallest town is bathed in warm, atmospheric light during Advent with candles, torches and open fires. You won't find any kitschy stalls here, but the stores in Rattenberg remain open. In addition, musicians, traditional groups and a strolling train for children create a Christmas atmosphere.

Candles in the windows, torches and open fires give the picturesque facades of the medieval houses a warm, original light that conveys a feeling of security. In Rattenberg, artificial light is largely dispensed with on the Advent weekends, without the hectic flashing lights and the garish orgies of color that outshine everything Christmassy elsewhere. There are very few traditional stalls at the Rattenberg Advent. All of the town's stores and the famous glass art stores are open and offer their products. On Sundays, the Anklöpfler parade through the town, and if you fancy a little taste experience, you should definitely try the Rattenberg Advent wine with elderberry flavor, served in the original Rattenberg Advent glass.

On Advent Saturdays, the Advent slow train takes visitors from Brixlegg to Rattenberg and back again.
