Between the times, two female musicians and one male musician move towards the end of the year. At the center are three instruments from different centuries – solo, in duo, and in trio. The oldest is the organetto, one of the most expressive keyboard instruments ever created. It serves both as an accompaniment to the voice and as a virtuosic solo instrument, forming a bridge between the vocality of the Middle Ages and the instrumental literature of the Renaissance. Adding to this is the violoncello, which links to the Baroque period, and finally the accordion, which emerged in the 19th century.
The idea: to elevate old and new elements to a common level. This is achieved by reshaping known sound worlds and viewing them from a new perspective – experiences from contemporary compositions meet works of early music.
Trio Berlanda
Margaritha Berlanda – accordion
Catalina Vicens – organetto
Nicoló Nigrelli – violoncello
