Description

Mountain fans have been meeting regularly for the Silvretta Ferwall March in Galtür for more than 50 years. The starting signal is given at 6 a.m. on the village square. There are four different routes to choose from.

Those in good shape can complete the marathon route of 42.2 kilometers and 1,779 vertical meters via the Zeinisjoch to the Heilbronner Hütte and the 2,696 high Grieskogeljoch. At 32.7 kilometers, the Ferwall route is somewhat shorter, but also more challenging. Here, 1,498 vertical meters have to be conquered up to the Grieskogeljoch. The medium-difficulty Silvretta route takes you 19.2 kilometers and 618 vertical meters to the Breitspitze and families set off on a 14.5-kilometer circular hike around the Kops reservoir at up to 1,019 meters above sea level.

Seven refreshment stations guarantee that energy reserves can be replenished again and again. There is a children's program for the little hikers directly at the festival site and at the Silvretta family route on the Zeinisjoch. The award ceremony takes place in the late afternoon, followed by a party in the festival tent.
