Sölden kicks off the FIS racing season and, at the same time, the winter season on the Rettenbach Glacier. Over two days of competition, men and women will battle it out for victory in the giant slalom.
Every year, Sölden is abuzz when the FIS racing circuit kicks off the season high above the Ötztal Valley. That’s perfectly fine—after all, the start of the racing season in the fall is something special, given the excellent conditions in the glacier ski area at over 3,200 meters above sea level. The women traditionally kick off the giant slalom at Sölden’s Bel Etage on Saturday. On Sunday, the men join the action. Thrilling races and world-class times draw in most of the fans. Of course, the charming supporting program and the unique atmosphere are also among the highlights of the ski event. Advance ticket sales begin as early as summer.
