Event Sonnwendfeier am Markbachjoch

Warm your hands by the big mountain fire and watch the midsummer bonfires on the surrounding peaks - the Markbachjoch in the Wildschönau is the perfect place for this. On top of that, there's live music and Tyrolean delicacies in the Rübezahlhütte and two mountain huts.

Description

From 6 pm on the longest day of the year, take the Markbachjochbahn in Niederau up to the mountain station and the fireplace. From there, there is a wonderful view of the Kitzbühel and Zillertal Alps and, on a clear day, as far as the Rofan mountains.

While the large campfire is lit, the midsummer fires begin to glow on the mountain flanks all around. At the Markbachjochalm, at the Rübezahlhütte and at the Norderbergalm there is music and Tyrolean delicacies. The descent with the cable car is possible until 11 pm. In rainy weather there is an alternative date.
