Event Sonnwendfeier auf der Innsbrucker Nordkette

Innsbruck, on 20. Jun 2026

Below Innsbruck as an oversized labyrinth of lights, above the glowing Karwendel peaks. And in the distance, new fires are constantly igniting on the Tyrolean mountains - where should you look first?

We recommend because:

  • up here, high above the city, is simply the most spectacular place for a midsummer celebration
  • Pat Burgerer gives a concert
  • children can take part in a torchlight hike

Description

The higher you get on the Nordkettenbahn, the more mountain fires come into view on both sides of the Inn Valley. And the more intense the festive atmosphere becomes on this day. Clubs from the surrounding villages take care of the midsummer bonfires around the Seegrube. And visitors can indulge in culinary delights in the See- and Karstube restaurants.

A torchlight hike, accompanied by a storyteller, awaits the children at the playground at 8.15 pm. She brings legends and stories for the little ones - which are sure to captivate some of the older visitors too. Pat Burgerer provides a concert atmosphere from 8.30 pm.

The last descent from the highest station on the Hafelekar starts at 11 pm. Half an hour later, the last gondola leaves the Seegrube.
