The residents of a small row house in a quiet suburb find themselves in a pinch. People keep coming in through the always-unlocked front door, who actually shouldn't be there. On one hand, they have mistaken the house number; on the other hand, they are wrong about the homeowner's marital status. He is, in fact, legally married, which does not prevent him from continuously or rather "driving" to make the acquaintance of young ladies who awaken protective instincts in him. However, he soon loses control of the consequences of his spontaneous "helpfulness."
