Description

On December 5th, Fulpmes will once again be seized by wild magic when the Traditional Tuifllauf, Tyrolean dialect for Devil Run, takes place at the Fulpmes church square.

At 7:00 p.m. the festivities begin, when the bars around the square open their doors for visitors. The evening starts off excitingly, as at 8:00 p.m. the Jungtuifl, the young devils, take over the scene and create a mystical atmosphere. Shortly after, Saint Nicholas appears with his entourage, accompanied by the Tuifl, who cause quite a stir. Saint Nicholas has small gifts for the well-behaved children, bringing joyful smiles.

The Tuifl is the creepy companion of Saint Nicholas and both are among the most important Advent customs in the Alpine region. So if you're ever in the area, you shouldn't miss this Tuifllauf.

Traditional Tuifllauf

The highlight of the evening is the grand Tuifllauf, considered one of the most spectacular and wildest in all of North Tyrol, at the church square of Fulpmes. The Tuifl, in their impressive costumes and terrifying masks, deliver an incredible show that captivates the audience year after year. The burning torches, rhythmic ringing of bells, and the wild performances of the Tuifl create a unique atmosphere that one must experience.

Getting There and Parking:
Access to Fulpmes can comfortably be done by car or bus. However, those arriving by car should note that only a limited number of parking spaces are available in the village. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to plan to arrive by bus. The bus connections are numerous, and the bus brings visitors directly to the center of Fulpmes, without having to worry about parking. This way, one can fully enjoy the event and safely return home again.
