Even when Maja is born, she is different from her peers. Kassandra, the teacher, can only wonder: a bee that asks questions even before she takes her first step out of the hive into the beehive. But Maja does not just ask. She wants to learn about the big, exciting world of bees as quickly as possible. It is no surprise that her very first outing becomes an adventure. There is so much to discover in the poppy meadow. Maja and her sleepy friend Willi are nibbling honey from the flowers of the bumblebee general and let themselves drift over the lake in a lemonade bottle. That's wonderful. But wait! Among the flowers and blades of grass, there are also some dangers lurking. Fortunately, the friendly grasshopper Flip always keeps an eye on the two runaways. However, when Willi thinks he is an ant – that's when Flip is at a loss...
