From work tool to winter fun: In Tyrol, sleds were once used to transport hay and wood from the mountains into the valley. This developed into tobogganing as a recreational activity and later as a sport.
A special role was played by Absam: As early as 1870, sleds with curved wooden runners were built there by the miner Johann Laimgruber. In 1904, the Absam tobogganing club was founded. Thus, tobogganing in the Hall-Wattens region looks back on a long tradition.
