Heinz Hofer, born in 1946, is considered one of the most significant watercolorists of the international Bodensee region. He is a master of fine brushwork and is characterized by a special artistic - creative sensitivity. His delicate floral and landscape watercolors in a style typical of Hofer's modern painting find more and more admirers from year to year, and his exceptionally successful exhibitions at home and abroad are due to the special recognition of his work. Heinz Hofer initially began with oil painting, realized nature studies on lacquer, and then turned to watercolor and charcoal drawing.
After completing extensive training with Prof. Klaus Pack in Salzburg, he increasingly devoted himself to watercolor painting, which he has been engaged in since 1979. Numerous study trips took the artist first throughout the entire Austrian federal territory and then through Italy, Greece, Germany, France, Egypt, Norway, Iceland, among others. Countless exhibitions in renowned galleries at home and abroad attest to his skill and popularity. However, despite his talent and great fame, Heinz Hofer has remained a simple person who lives and works unobtrusively. Not least for this reason, he can also be referred to as the "Painter of Silence."
