Schmidt-Zabierow-Hütte (bis 10SL)
The Schmidtz-Zabierow-Hut (www.schmidt-zabierow.at) is the only refuge in the Loferer Steinberge and the ideal base camp for climbing up the big summits of this mountain range. For climbers, there are perfect possibilities in all levels of difficulties. Short base climbs, perfectly secured Plaisir routes in close proximity to the hut, enjoyable ridge traverses and as well demanding up to 500m long alpine sports climbing routes. The "EndeNie" (NeverEnding) is one of the longest alpine sports climbing routes in the Eastern Alps with its 38 pitches. The hut is the ideal base camp when descending from the Breithorn.
All routes around the hut, as well as other climbing routes, can be found in the climbing guide "Steinplatte" Alpinverlag Panico. In summer 2009 a new edition of this guide by Adi Stocker was published in which die areas of the Steinplatte, Wemeteigen, Urlkopf, Weißbach, Hohlwegen and the ones of the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge are covered.

Von Lofer westlich auf der Bundesstrasse bis kurz nach den Tennisplätzen. Hier zweigt links die Strasse in das Loferer Hochtal ab. Dieses zuletzt kurz auf Schotterstrasse zum Parkplatz am Ende des Hochtales.
