The Bergkameraden via ferrata is the easiest wall ascent in the via ferrata park near the Ottenalm valley. The tour has two rope bridges and a crisp overhang. In combination with the approach via the ridge path, it is a beautiful half-day tour.

Descent

From the exit, turn left along the beautiful ridge path down to a saddle, then left to the Ottenalm and from there back to the car park at the sports field. Alternative descent to the right on the ridge path down to Walchsee (approx. 1 hour).

Route description

Climb up the pillar wall (C, sections C/D) until you reach the rope bridge at the top. Cross the rope bridge (B) to the main wall. An easy traverse (A) leads left to an overhang (D). After this short D-passage, climb in an S-line (C/D) to a flat section (A/B). A traverse (A) and several steps (B/C) lead to the second rope bridge (B), then briefly steep (B/C), then easy (A) up to the exit.

Getting here

  • Arrival by public transport

    By train to Kufstein and by bus to Walchsee; continue on foot.

    There is a large car park (parking machine) at the sports field.
