Route description

Between St. Jodok and the starting point of the via ferrata there is a via ferrata educational trail, where the main topics concerning safety and technique are explained on several boards. The via ferrata has some sections with difficulty level C, but mostly only B. There are 3 sections and 2 emergency exits.
From the parking area near the church in St. Jodok we follow the signs to the train station. At the top of the railway tracks, the path leads out of the valley for about 10 minutes to the signposted turnoff of the path, which takes about 5 minutes to reach the entrance. The most difficult passage is located directly after the entrance with difficulty level C. Then it is easier to continue (B) until after about 35 minutes you reach the first rest area with a wonderful view of the valley. Then follows the first of two rope bridges. Directly in front of the rope bridge is the first emergency exit. After the rope bridge, continue along the wall, then go straight up again (C) to the second rope bridge with a ladder. Before the rope bridge is the second emergency exit. Now it is about 30 min. to the summit cross, where you continue similar to the lower part. There are more wooden benches coming a passage in difficulty level C.
The signposted descent (45 min) meets the emergency exit paths of the via ferrata on the way.
