Approach

At the southern end of Obergurgl you follow the path to the Zirben Alm.

Descent

Return via hiking trail no. 9 towards Obergurgl. Or turn left towards Ramolhaus, then go over the bridge and past the Zirbenalm to Obergurgl.

Route description

Already the entry over a suspension bridge requires courage and dexterity. A wire rope for securing with the via ferrata set is available. The family-friendly via ferrata hat two difficult C passages which require some experience. Also enjoyable is the easy hike to and from the exit. Hence, also non-climbers can be close to the action.

Level of difficulty/equipment:
On a scale for the difficulty rating ranging from A to E (easy to extreme), this via ferrata is in between B and C. The large part of the route is B. Hence, families with children from 10 onwards can enjoy the climbing here. Equipment: Helmet, climbing harness with via ferrata set, via ferrata gloves, suitable footwear.

Length and required time:
100 meters in altitude and 400 m climbing. Ca. 1,5 - 2 hours. With descent approximately 3 hours.

Via the hiking trail Nr.9 towards Obergurgl.
